Hi, thanks for the info. I know I left a few WAMP5 references in WampServer 2...my mistake. It will be corrected in next release.
Nayway, if you did a clean uninstall of WAMP5 and deleted the wamp directory before intalling WampServer 2, everything should work ok for you. Forum: WampServer English

I see two reasons possible :
1 - you've got another instance of Apache installed on your computer (eather from another pack or a manual install)
2- the scripts you run don't stop. This means that you have an infinite execution somwhere in your code that's why httpd.exe stays in memory.
The problem that you describe has not been reported by anyone else and we've already got > 50 000 in Forum: WampServer English
Hi,
Ajax can work without any problem on WampServer.
I see three possible reasons for your problem :
1 - you use short open tags in your php script (<?). Then activate short_open_tags in your php conf, or replace these tags by standard php tags (<?php)
2 - you don't call you PHP pages through your web server. Make sure your browser calls a .....
page
3 - you need to change so Forum: WampServer English
Hi,
this might be related to an antivirus thinking that wampmanager.exe is corrupted. Do you have an anti virus installed? If yes, how old is you virus database? Forum: WampServer English
Did you install the latest version over an existing one on your computer?
If yes, which version?
Did you do a standard install, or did your install in a specific directory? Forum: WampServer English
the easiest way is to download a mysql release on the mysql site.
Stop WAMP5, replace the /data/mysql/ directory by the one included in the MySQL release you've downloaded, this will reset the MySQL password to '' (empty) Forum: WampServer English
Hi,
concerning the non admin user problem, this is normal, you need to have admin rights to manage services.
Concerning the 6 error messages, I don't have this problem on my computer even when installing in program files.
Sorry not to be able to help you more.
By the way, WAMP5 1.7.3 should be the last of the wamp5 branch. I'm actually working on WampServer 2.0 which should be out before the Forum: WampServer English
This is because of rackshack.net's configuration. If you make an A type query on a dns for this domain name, you will receive 127.0.0.1 which point on your localhost. This means that this domain name will always point on your localhost. Forum: WampServer English
Hi, if wampmanager.exe desn't has admin rights, it cannot manage the apache and the MySQL services. I did not decide this, it's a windows fact.
So either you give admin rights to wampmanager.exe, either....either nothing.
I personnaly hate Vista, it's just a pain in the xxx for developpers, its UAC system is so anoyi ng and this system need so much ressources for nothing,( just my point of vie Forum: WampServer English
Hi,
well I d'ont really see from where the problem could come. When I build WAMP5, I use official PHP and Apache releases, I d'ont recompile them so it can't come from there.
So two possibilities :
- first, it could come from the apache configuration, something in there :
