Save www folder from that old wamp and also use phpmyadmin come w/ that old wamp to export DB's, then uninstall it, remove its folder, restart pc then install new wamp

Quote hosts file has the listing, but there are other things listed in there and cannot be removed that would cause issue since they redirect away from locahost which results blank page and no matter which wamp package you're using, you're gonna got same issue
