Hi,
I've just set up a sandbox with local server and loaded wordpress.
phpMyAdmin homepage has got a warning:

"Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user 'root'."

Can someone help - where do I go to put this password ?
Thank you,
montaya

Go to phpMyAdmin on the top you should see a tab called 'privileges' click on it, on the bottom should be a link to add a new user. Add a new user with the password and the warning should disappear.

NOTE:

mysql still can be used with that warning, you can ignore that warning if you are using mysql on your local machine alongside WAMP server you do not need to change your password during the development of the php systems. However, it depends how you are creating your systems, If you let's say you use includes (PHP - your connection to the database) then it is easy to change the user and the password when you will upload your system to the real web server. If not you need to do so in every place you connect to db.

Kind Regards,
