Hi

As the subject says, I run wamp on my pc in office and my 2 colleagues use macs. I want to allow them also to see my localhost via their browsers.

I have tried accessing my localhost by my assigned ip address and also with the 8080 / 80 port numbers to no avail.

Has anyone managed to do this before? Help greatly appreciated!

No matter within or outside LAN access, you need to setup Access, DNS, and VH; Access for permission to connect to your Wamp PC, DNS to tie Domain(s) to your Wamp PC, and VH to host multiple Domains/Websites/IP's and even you have only 1 Domain/IP, you should use VH to set it up w/ the site you want to show up first on top and localhost on bottom and others in middle if having more than 1 site; w/ VH, other PC's, no matter w/i or outside LAN, can access/see websites/contents of that particular folder set for that particular VH on your wamp PC. If dont have real Domain, just skip DNS guide

Thanks for the response yfastud. I followed the guides ( I have no external IP / domain ) so only added the one rule to the virtual hosts file. When I try and access my wamp PC via colleagues mac using localhost OR my pc's ip it produces only a blank screen (no error message) no errors in log files either.

Any suggestions?

Yeah I think so -

- Uncommented line in apache config file
- Added only the one localhost rule to the apache vhosts file
- restarted wamp and 'put online'
- Allowed port 80 in all firewalls and router
- Added my pc ip with localhost to the hosts file on macs (and flushed cache)
- I can ping (from macs) my pc ip and port 80 successfully.

There are 3 things in Access guide and seem you only do 1, so how about the other 2?
