If you are running the 32bit version of Apache and PHP then it can only address 4Gig of memory max, less in real terms. This out of memory message has happened to me before when I have tried to create arrays that were just to large to be sensible. I think if you took a look a refactoring the code that is causing the problem that would be your best bet.

You have overwritten the index.php file that comes with wamp and is the wamp homepage. NOTE: Always create a subfolder under the c:\wamp\www folder for your own sites, and never put your work in there. Copy the Contents of index.php OR Download index.php

Arfen, The university site is a blocg, there is no download link available. If you want to install TeamViewer I can take a look at your PC remotly and help you get wamp running. Brian, Make sure you have all the Pache and PHP modules selected that you did on your 2.0 verison You need wampmanager -> Apache -> Apache Modules -> Include_module ticked to use .shtml functions

Arfen, You are much better off using a current version! Tell us :- Operating System WAMP Version installed And then describe you problem and we will help you fix them. Suggestion: Download a 32bit version rather than a 64bit version.

Daniel, Assuming you have not changed any default port number or have put them back to how they should be. Wordpress works best when you do a proper install ( 5 minute install ) documented on the wordpress site. This will test the database connection you give it, and find the database you created before running the install, and give you useful error messages if anything is not right.

Yes it can run various versions of Apache, PHP and MySQL. However all 3 communities have been in the process of moving compilers from MSVC6 to MSVC9. Therefore there are some unfortunate incommpatibilities that were not in the landscape when WAMP came up with this handy idea. Did you copy the c:\wamp\www\index.php file into your new folder? If you did then delete it and replace it with the index.php file for your individual projects.

I would suggest [utting MYSQL back onto port 3306 as changing it solves nothing. Did you change the password on your mysql 'root' userid?

When you uninstall WAMP, you then have to manually go and delete the C:\wamp folder and all its subfolders afer the uninstall finishes. This is because wamp wont remove anything you create or change after the install. If you dont do this, when you re-install it wont overwrite whats already there, so mysql's own database does not get replaced and therefore your error never gets overwritten.
