Yes Steve,I have total control over everything basically. I would just open the port in my router. I also multiboot so have plenty of scope for trial and error. Is it as simple as just copying the httpd.conf file and changing ports inside? I'll need to download a php4 again and install but not too sure how to install the service for it? Then just have to have the software point to the

This may solve my issue that I've had for years........... Is it possible to run a 64 bit and a 32 bit at the same time? my website needs php5 but a software package I run needs php4 to 'show' properly. possible to run 2x wamp2.2's or does it need to be a 2.1 and a 2.2?

So basically all I have to do is alter the vhosts file? Well hit and miss so far. website does not show when using wamp with apache 242 but does with 222? does the latest apache have something that I'd need? Thanks for that comprehensive answer I'll make sure it's up and working on C first then I'll try your suggestions. I may struggle with the 2nd option though...........bit over my head but I'll keep rereading it till I know things better

Just come by a server box which I'm now using. I only have a small boot disk which is an SSD. I have plenty of storage hard drives. Can have the WWW folder on a different hard drive? If so which file do I edit?

There should already be a index file in the www folder. You need another index file in the forum folder. the 'forum' is basically a website. Did you follow the guide for setting up your virtual host? Glad your sorted

Just re install wamp but remember to save any other files you changed. Make sure you follow the guide....
