Been away for a while, possible to run php4 and php5 together?

Hey Guys smiling smiley

I've been running the 'unofficial' wamp64 v1.0 for ages with no problems.
Just installed latest version,2.2 now,fresh.

I assume the old 'how to' files are still relevant?

Anyway I digress.

Before it was not possible to run php4 with php5 together,is this now possible?
Reason I ask is that it seems it's now possible to run 2 instances of php.......

"2. Is it possible to have multiple instances of a same release of Apache, MySQL or PHP?
Yes, you just have to rename one of the instances. For example, you can add a letter to the directory name (ex : php5.2.5 et PHP5.2.5b).
"

Many Thanks

Do you mean at the exact same time?

The quote you posted is about have two of the same version install but using different settings

Is always been possible to run two versions of php at the exact same time but this involves changes to apahe configuration.

You could set it up quite easily using different extensions for your files like

.php4. and .php5

Easy to you tongue sticking out smiley
I'm just a user, not a scripter coder or any such thing.

You may remember you sorted me out last time with this software I'm still fixing hehe
Last time I asked the question differently/wrong.
I asked if I could run 2 wamps,1 php4 the other php5.

Now I have asked question differently and you say it's possible smiling smiley grinning smiley

Old history.......
Have some code that was written in php4.
Back then upgraded wamp which ran php5.
Code did not work smiling smiley
You fixed that problem and code worked.
Thanks again for that smiling smiley

Only problem I had then that I still have is that the code is supposed to generate some graphs.
It does not with php5 server sad smiley
At least it does not on my server.
(Have a friend who tried to help me out and he got it working by chmodding 777 some folders.
I tried but it does not work?)

So if I (read you smiling smiley ) can make this code run php4 I would be very happy.

If you would be willing to do this?
If so would you like to teamviewer into me or for me to send the code?

Thanks

yes email me the teamviewer details..

we can just install php4 onto your server. and you can swap between them..

but if you need to run php4 and php5 at the same time.. we will need to use .php4 for php4 filessmiling smiley

Only? I think that would be great to have at least that. Only if all my files can stay .php
Will you publish the way how to do cgi PHP at the same time with ISAPI?

Hi Steven, much same help needed on setting up 2 copies of apache at different ports. infact 2 copies of wampserver. I have so many sites which I need to make transition on but at the same time I am onto new sites which I need to take off with at least latest wapmpserver. at the moment, wampserver listens on a particular port 'xx' , how do I go from here for second installation with different versions of apache, mysql, php

I'm back up and running with a server box now.
I'd still like to run PHP4 and PHP5 together.
has a solution become any clearer?
