Thank you so much Boaz. The steps above are all there is to it.
I guess some of us just need "layman's terms".

Trying to figure this out led me to one "solution" on this forum that said I needed to get rid of MySQL 5.5 and install 5.1 instead. Did that but I wasn't aware that I needed to stop the MySQL service first and restart my computer. So the service was frozen and wouldn't delete. Thought about deleting WAMP completely and any records in my registry and starting over.. But I figured it all out.

The problem was simply the above as well as my firewall needs to allow 'Outbound' access for Apache or PHPmyAdmin won't work (not trying to figure that one out but if anyone knows why pls let me know).


I guess I learned something new. And thanks to the WAMP guys too, while this whole thing was a bit of a drag, it's much better then installing all 3 programs individually.
