WampServer

I ve read all the topics about it and tried a few more things, and no success so far,
this is very strange,

I ve just installed a new wamp on my PC, and all I get is blank localhost.

the icon on the Tray is 3/4 yellow

also I get this message

"could not execute menu item (internal error)
[Exception] Could not perform service action:
The service has not been started"

what do you make of that ?

I really hope you can help me as this is just driving me crazy at the moment.

I ve read almost every post for this problem, none of them solves it

the icon 3/4 yellow and 1/4 white

I goto apache and Service and Start/Resume Service and click on it and nothing happens

but when I click on the Test Port 80,
it tells me this;

"Your posrt 80 is actually used by:

Server: Apache/2.2.11 (Win32) PHP/5.3.0"


can anyone see the problem Im having ?

I still get blank page on localhost or [127.0.0.1]

I don't have skype installed

I dont have IIS either.

Possibly similar problem here

I installed wampserver 2.0i on a freshly installed winxp sp3. Wampserver starts up OK, installed PHP 5.2.10 as an add-on to match production server, whenever I change to PHP 5.2.10 I get an error message like above, and the 3/4 yellow 1/4 white icon and localhost is blank,

can't find the solution for this. help please.

steven, I'm sorry if I was slow at following your instructions, I would really appreciate if you could still help me with it as I still have no luck with this.

wampserver is now showing all white, but when I test it on browser

[localhost]

or

127.0.0.1

I still get a blank page

Hi steven, yes you were helping me on messenger and we got cut off for some reason,
you were asking me what the last line was on the apache_error.log

I am stil working on it with no luck, I keep posting in the forum and still not clear answers,

I had the wamp working a while ago, and it just stopped,
so I uninstalled the whole thing and installed the new version

and even then its the same problem.

I have tried everything I know and in the forum so far and still no luck.

oh yes.. ul need to get teamviewer.. so i can have a look at process messages to see why its not working..

it's a very hard decision

the helper(s), like steven or me, cant see what on the user's pc which might prevent or block wamp to run properly and thus cant really help w/o glue

on the other hand, for safety and security, most people, if not all, dont like others to see what's on their pc's, especially w/ teamviewer gaining popular uses nowadays and become a target for hackers and spammers to exploit; thus, you never know if it's more than just 2 people, the helper and the user, actually look at the user's pc at the time the teamviewer running; thus, wamp users should stay away from remote desktop for help

that's why I keep repeating to suggest wamp users to check their system for conflict before going futher to get help. What to look for??? Any web related programs including iis, skype, zonealarm, firewall/antivirus, nod32, eset, any web related program ... such as Adobe Web program like Dreamweaver, Coldfusion..., for example, Sony Media Center has any conflict w/ wamp? yes, it is since it's a webserver and occupy default web port 80!!!

also, when installing wampserver, if it's any popup for permission, no matter it's firewall or antivirus or UAC..., you MUST select always, not once or temp...

Your are trying to activate an option.

To apply, your modification, apache server has to restart.
But is not started at the moment.
As it starts by default with wampserver, then you probably have another program using port 80.

You should test your port 80 from wamp menu > Apache > Service.

If you have Skype open, close it! That solved my problem.

Hi,

I have the same problem. The PHP page when viewed in browser shows blank. When checked the view source option of browser it shows the html. Checked the WAMP icon in system tray. It is green. Checked the port. it is configured for Apache, port 80.

Checked the error log files and did not find any error.

I am not sure where the problem is. Please help.
