Forgot to say - those rewrites need to be changed, I noticed that when I looked at the file. I'll recreate the file and fix the rewrites before going any further.

This issue relates to an installation using wampserver3.0.4_x64_apache2.4.18_mysql5.7.11_php5.6.19-7.0.4.exe and all of the C++ redist libs, as specified on the information page of the install. It was installed about two hours ago. The only installation default I changed was to specify Firefox to replace IE. I created a virtual host successfully after a bit of help -thank you, RiggsFolly

Okay, thank for the post reference - I missed that item on the wamp localhost page. I ran it and defined a virtual host. The last window in the process says: ----------------------------- The files have been modified. Virtual host bn.com was created Messages from the console to update DNS: You may add another VirtualHost by validate "Add a VirtualHost". However, for these

I see a file named add_vhost.php in the wamp/www directory. What it its purpose? Can it be used, somehow, to create virtual hosts in a "automated" fashion? If so, how do you go about using it, do you write a custom page to use it? Simon

This question is tied to the question I asked about disabling auto updates for MySQL. If you read my reply to your reply to that message, , you'll see that your reply helped me resolve the matter. For full details, see that other question at Thanks for the help. Simon

Well, I found the MySQL installer (asked where it was in a previous message), ran it, and turned off auto updates. To check for updates, I clicked Catalog link at the lower right hand corner of the Installer window. I was told there was an update for the Installer and so I allowed it. Now I'm confronted with the Choosing Setup Type window and I'm not sure which type I should select. I

I found it. I was looking in the wrong place. I completely forgot that a startup menu folder is created for MySQL. There is a link for the installer in that folder. And, for future reference, the program itself is at "C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\MySQL Installer for Windows\MySQLInstaller.exe" Community At least that is where it is on this Windows Vista install.

This is SOLVED - see the reply I posted: I want to turn off auto-updates for MySql. To do so, I need to run the installer but I can't find it. Where it is in the WAMP directory structure and what is its name? I have WampServer Version 2.5 installed (that's from the WAMP systray Icon contextual menu)

I've searched the forums and not found anything addressing my issue. I installed WAMP to be able to develop and test wordpress modules locally. I've got it running with no errors. HTML files work correctly and response time is very good. However, when I request a Wordpress php file, it takes so long that I can switch over to a Freecell game and make several moves before the page loads.
