Have you considered starting over? Un-install WAMP, install the latest version, and go from there??? I learned along ago, in my 43+ years in data processing, that a fresh start is often the only recourse when problems can't be resolved. It can be a rather drastic measure, but sometimes there is no viable alternative to continuing to "chase your tail" with problems. I've install

This is a very long reply - if you decide to follow my suggestions, as creating virtual hosts, print this out so you can refer to as you go through the steps. ---- You should start from scratch creating virtual hosts. Too many things have been changed, too many types of errors have occured - trust me, after 42+ years in data processing, I know that there are times when it is best to get a cle

Before I go any futhere, I'd like to go back to you original question, you said you were getting the error message: "You don't have permission to access /test on this server." Exactly what are you entering in the browser address bar? When I have seen that message about permission, it is when I enter a URL for a directory on a server in which there is no default file - index.htm

I found a PEAR package I'd like to run locally and so I have to install PEAR. Does WAMP still support it - or perhaps I should ask, is PEAR still supported by PHP? II found this post about installing PEAR. Is the information in that post still accurate? If not, what changed and what do I need to do? That post contains the sentence: "Before you do this, make sure the pear s

I'd like to have both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of WAMP installed on my system. I searched and found this post: If I read it correctly, I can install both, into separate directories, and run one or the other by themselves - not both at the same time. I understand they can not be run at the same time because of the very nature of the packages. That posts talks about using the menu

I still some queswtions - I still don't understand what you refer to as "the securityfile" Do you mean a copy of the MySQL file from the old WP installation? If not, what??? You also said "Before all my trouble I made a security-copy of my website(sql within phpmyadmin)" Why do you use the word "security" - do you mean a backup as "security" fo

I believe that Otomatic referred you to so that you would know how to post a question and that you need to provide detailed information for use to work with. He then indicated that he wanted you to post the contents of two files for me to see; "- content of C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file - content of wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.xx\conf\extra\httpd-vhosts.conf So please

I'm not sure, either, what he keyed off, it may have been a combination of things - I think that you perhaps need to learn a lot more about a lot of subjects before you could fully understand the material you posted. By the way - what change did you make to fix your problem? Or is that too much to ask? I just reviewed the entire conversation: You said "For my own education, how d

Yes - tell us what you changed to resolve the problem. Someone may have the same problem and search here only to find that you fixed it but didn't say how you fixed it. It is simply common etiquette to come back and post what steps you took to resolve a problem - whether posting here or on any other programming forum on the web.

@MikeA I totally agree with Otomatic's reply. It is not just proper etiquette to post the solution you used, it also improves the usefulness of the post when someone searched for the same sort of error. As it stands, we don't know what was done to resolve the matter or, for that matter, what the problem actually was. A moderator, or anyone has the right, and duty, to educated posters

First - your subject line is completely wrong. Windows did not crash - you did not get a BSOD - Blue Screen of Death, you just got an error message from some component executing on your computer - I say it is an SQL error. Reading your subject line, people are going to think that you mean that WAMP caused Windows (the operating system) to crash completely. Second - go read this page:

You said: "No, the filename already is php. I'm sure because Windows asked me if i'm sure i wanted to change" When is Windows asking you about changing the extention? Tip - This works on Windows 7 and below, I haven't used 8 or 10 except to play with it when I was looking at new computers at various stores. Go to Control Panel (one way is to click Start -> Setings ->

By the way - you should probably go to the the wordpress.org forum for help with installing or moving Wordpress to another directory or another server - like moving an online installation to a local server. You can use the Duplicator plugin as a backup procedure - always make backups when you are going to make changes!

This may not address the 404 errors, but it will address any problems in WP if you actually copied an installed Wordpress site to another location without doing several manual steps to change the database and wp-config.php file. ------- Are you saying that your moved a WP installation by copying it to a new directory under WAMP? If so, that's not how you move a WP site. You will get all

Is http:// vbxwa1/my-site a registered domain, does a DNS, somewhere, point to it the IP address of your computer. Seems the browser on the other computers will do a DNS query to get the IP address for that URL when you try to get to a file on that URL You said you get a 200 (I'm assuming that is the HTTP Response code - right?) What do you get on the other computers when you try to load a

In response to your "what I am telling you..." What you told us is that you are getting an error message from some code that probably was not installed with WAMP. If it is an error generated by PHP as a result of programming errors, it still hasn't anything to do with WAMP. I agree with RiggsFolly - jumping to PHP 7 from PHP 5 is a huge leap and needs to be approached carefully

To get to the PHP log file: - click the WAMP icon in the system tray - click PHP - click PHP error log That should open the PHP error log file - see if you can find error messages logged when the error occurs. If yout want to start with an empty log file and then do some testing - to empty the PHP error log: - right click the WAMP icon in the system tray - click Tools - cllick Em

As has been said, this is a forum for using WAMP not for applications running under WAMP. Contact the vendor/author of the package you are having trouble with. It would make no difference if you were running it on a remote server or under WAMP - the vendor/author is the to get help from. It seems you have a problem with the AD package, not anything related to what is installed when you inst

It would be better for you to create a Named Constant for the database name in a myconfig.php file you create on your site. You would "require_once" that file in all of your PHP files so that the constants defined in the myconfig.php file will be available to all code. An example is: Create a file named myconfig.php (or any other name you want, but one that instantly says "

What do you mean by "folder" as in "... I enter the folder..." "...affect my folder..." Do you mean your web site? As to the problem - as Otomatic said, contact vendor (the people who wrote the code) for toursys\plugins\system\jsecurelite\jsecurelite.php and report the errors to them.

I've got a default installation of WAMP, I haven't made any optional changes to the configuration. I have a very simple "application" which - user fills in a login form and submits it - PHP code gets user's password from DB - hashs - SHA256 - the user's password input - compares the hashed password and the hashed password from the DB and outputs a Correct or Not Correct messag
