In an effort to learn more about server configs and what not, I decided to try setting up PHP7 within my current WAMP2.5 environment. I had a good deal of trouble, but finally was able to get PHP7 to show up as an installed PHP version in the WAMP menu. But the problem is when I try to start all services, MySQL starts up but Apache does not. There's nothing in the Apache or PHP error logs. I know

So I found out the issue was the latest driver. I was trying to use 1.5.4, kept saying 'The specified module could not be found'. I went down to 1.5.1 and it worked.

So I was getting the drivers from before, but I went to to get them. Now, the drivers seem to load (no more warning symbol), but it still doesn't show up in phpinfo.

Does the Mongo version affect whether PHP can load the extension or not? Wouldn't that just affect PHP's ability to actually connect to the database?

The files have vc11 in their names, which seems to indicate they are VC11 compiled. As I don't really know what that means, I can't comment... I guess I'll try to go back to 2.2e... I need mongo running, but I wanted to use PHP traits...

Yah, I've been using Mongo for a while now. I'm trying to update from WAMP 2.2e (Apache 2.2.22, PHP 5.3.13, MySQL 5.5.24) to WAMP 2.5 (Apache 2.4.9, PHP 5.5.12, MySQL 5.6.17). I'm currently using MongoDB 2.4.9 if it matters. But its not a case of PHP not being able to access mongo... the extension won't actually load; as mentioned above, in the WAMP PHP extension menu, it has a warning symbol

I was hoping someone could help me out. I recently deleted my old copy of wamp and installed 2.5. I went to get the latest MongoDB drivers as well, and found that in the PHP extension menu, it has a small warning icon next to it, and won't let me load it. If I edit php.ini directly, it doesn't load either. Anyone have any advice?

I'm hoping I can get some guidance with this, being not all so good with server configurations. I am starting to learn Ruby/RoR, and as I'm currently running WAMP on my local system, I figured I should install Ruby concurrently with my WAMP server (I've heard, you need Apache or similar to run Ruby?). I've tried searching for more information, but I seem to be running into a wall. Do I need Ap

I recently installed the latest version of WAMP onto my work laptop, and upon trying a project, was unable to make a connection to the MySQL server through the code. phpMyAdmin works just fine, so the MySQL server is working, but the code is not. I tried connecting both via PDO and mysql_connect. Does anyone have any advice on what I can/should do to diagnose and solve the problem?

Yup... the user has all global privileges, i tried with with a complex password, with a simple password. In fact, to add more strangeness, with no password it works fine... once I add a password it stops working. And I'm aware the mysql upgraded, lim, I meant that it seems something has changed significantly enough that I apparently can't just make users anymore

I hope someone can help me figure this out. It might be a MySQL issue, but... So I was formerly using WAMP 2.0i. I recently got a new HD, put Windows on, and decided to grab the latest WAMP (2.1e). So I installed WAMP, setup my ini's and configs, copied over my files and databases, and created my DB users, as I do every time I format/install WAMP. This time, I was in for a bit of a shock when
