My wamp was not starting either, so I thought it would be helpful to mention what I did with the firewall, norton, etc, and someone else mentioned skype possibly being a problem. Everything was a good suggestion to help search for answers to why your wamp wouldn't start. I got mine going again because of information I got from a couple threads in this forum and different suggestions. Gave me ide

That is so odd, because I've just never had a problem running Wamp and Skype. It has never been an issue before. That's why I was confused when I read it on the forum. I run Skype and Wamp on my Sony, but I've never had to configure either one to work together. So that is really odd.

Just wanted to repost as possibly this will help someone else. I had disabled Norton, but that didn't help because I had only 1 service running on WAMP. So I went into Norton Settings > Firewall Protection > Program Rules and ADDED WAMP. That did it! All services are running.

Reading other threads trying to get to the bottom of my issue, and I might also note that one is supposed to DISable IIS on a PC; however, I ended up enabling IIS and my Wamp started running. Go figure! I have no idea! But it WAS disabled, and Wamp wouldn't run at all. Couldn't even start it. Upon checking to SEE if iis was enabled or disabled, I decided to just go ahead and enable it, as Wa

<<If you have Skype running, the wamp will not start..>> Just jumping in on this post because I'm having issues with Wamp on a laptop. I've posted another thread. A little different issue. However, I have Wamp running on a PC desktop AND SKYPE, and Wamp works perfectly. Then I have a laptop where I'm trying to run Wamp and it doesn't even have skype on it, but it doesn't

I found another thread that seems to be along the lines of what I'm trying to accomplish, so I'll follow that one. I was able to find the IIS by reading the other thread.

I made a couple changes, rebooted the system, and them Wamp wouldn't start. Then I found your thre

I'm looking under services in control panel, but see nothing listed as IIS service. Maybe it can be disabled from Startup? But that doesn't seem to be listed under Services either. Must be in the wrong place. Do you know where the IIS is located on Windows XP Professional? I googled it, but only came up with "disable IIS Services 4.0, or turn off ASP session in IIS 4.0, 5.0 etc.

Hello, I have a PC with a working Wamp server. I decided to put one on my laptop, and I got all services started; however, when I open the phpadmin page it is just blank. I have Norton on "both" computers and it has never interfered with Wamp on my desktop, but even so I turned off the firewall, but that didn't make a difference. Any suggestions as to why I just bring up blank pa

Well, FINALLY, by rebooting a gazillion times, and turning WAMP on, off, on, off, on, off, rebooting, on, off, rebooting LOL I FINALLY got it to work. I think it was tired of me flipping its switch! And it succumbed to my demands! LOL It just started working. You can BET I'm keeping JSAS off my computer! NOT going to go there again!

Well, I restored back to 2 days before, but my WAMP still no longer starts. WAH! this is upsetting because had I have known that JSAS would do this, of course I NEVER would have bothered to install it, especially because Joomla CAN run on WAMP. I was merely doing this becaus someone was helping me with Joomla and they have JSAS and couldn't explain anything unless I was doing the exact same thi

Okay. I was told that JSAS would not be a problem on the system if I just turned on one and turned off the other. So even if there are leftover components of JSAS, should it really be a problem for the WAMP? JSAS can't run if it's been removed from my system?

I have Vista (sadly) and WAMP has run for about a year on it without a problem. But recently I was trying to learn Joomla, and someone told me to put JSAS on it. I said, what's wrong with WAMP? They said it'd be easier for Joomla to use JSAS because they use it and they can explain it better using what they are accustomed to. I said, well, I can't mess up WAMP because I depend on it for my

If you run ALL software through the administrator (I have Vista also) then you shouldn't have a problem and should not have to configure anything. WAMP (on Vista -- for me anyway) will not start just opening the Services panel. I have to open it from an icon on the desktop by right-clicking and opening through adminsitrator. Then all services will run. Glad you got it worked out, but from an

Well, no matter...........I don't know anything about developing a shopping cart, and Cartweaver was created by a VERY RELIABLE company by creme-de-la-creme developers. So I trust it as a program. The MySQL database creation script is included. Everything is fully commented. You ask: why it needs full-privileged admin's password to log-in your main db? Because you don't want other people

It says the CW 2 database is built in MySQL. The AdmninArea is provided to make populating the database easy for a store's admin. The MySQL database script is zipped in the package.

I am using Cartweaver. When I originally set up WAMP, I guess I didn't set up a password for MySQL, because now on the Setup Connection on Cartweaver, it is asking for a password to my database. I can't leave it blank. That doesn't work. So how do I go back into the setup of MYSQL (even though WAMP is all running just fine) and REassign a password for the database? that way if it has a passw

Hmmm....I wonder if that is somehow affecting the WAMP server to run properly? I'll have to check that out. I noticed tonight when I shut off the services (which works from the little menu in the task bar) then when I go to restart it, it will not start from the menu; however, when I go to the actual program and right-click and start WAMP from there, it now tells me Windows cannot find WAMP, an

Hey, thanks for the procedure information. I'll have to try that method and see how it works. I too can no longer start and stop from the service panel that is in my task bar. I used to be able to do that with WinXP. Then I tried to put a short cut on my desktop and right-click, start, run through admin there. But it doesn't always work that way either. I'll try just starting it through th

I just bought a brand new computer. What a stupid solution. I come to the HELP forum to get that kind of response? That's lame! People don't ask for assistance with something to have you tell them to reformat their entire hard drive and switch to an OS they have no clue about! Can't believe you even wasted your time writing that? Just to be smart? I guess? Bad solution. It worked just fi
