Let me preface this by saying that I am new at this and have little background, so any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get this up and running after having dl-ed the Wampserver 2.2e on my comp ( Windows 7 32 bit) and the corresponding vc++ 2010, I am unable to access myphpadmin. I continue to receive "IE cannot display page". The tray icon is orange.
If the tray icon is orange then Apache has not started.
Forget about the Offline/Online situation that is only to do with changing the apache security to Offline = only allow access from 127.0.0.1 which is localhost Online = allow access from any IP address in the world.
The problem is apache not starting.
Do a left click on wamp manager -> Apache -> Services -> Test Port 80
This should launch a command windows and report what is using port 80 ( if anything )
You will then need to uninstall or re-configure that app to stop it using port 80.
Common things that grab port 80 are: SKYPE - can be configured to stop using port 80 TeamViewer - can be configured to stop using port 80 IIS ( microsofts web server ), either Uninstall it from Control panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on and off -> Internet Information Service Un tick anything in that section.
Of course if you have tried one of the other WAMP'alikes XAMP etc and have not correctly uninstalled it then uninstall that as well. You can only have one web server per PC as they all want to use port 80.
I saw a message about not having VC++ 2008 and it effecting Apache post. I installed Wamp then realized that I didnt have the VC++, installed that and then re-installed the Wamp could this be the problem. Should I uninstall WAMP and then try to reinstall it
