WampServer

I've just installed wampserver 64 bit and I have 2 problems, 1st of all I click on localhost and it simply does a google search for it does not see localhost as an host I guess, so I type instead localhost:3306 and get the following error message ---> N 5.5.24-log 4)py0!QVÿ÷€;deRGM,6g'+Amysql_native_password!
ÿ„#08S01Got packets out of order

I've been trying to find a solution for a while now and cant't see why this is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If localhost does not work it is probably that the HOSTS file does not have the correct entry in it.

I done know the full directory name on a 64bit system but on a 32 it would be

C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

This file has to be edited in Administrator mode, so launch your editor using "Run as Administartor"

Add ( or uncomment ) this line in the hosts file

127.0.0.1 localhost
