HTTP 500 Internal Server Error

Hi

On a previous installation under Windows XP, I encounetered a "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" and was told to enable the PHP curl extension. It solved the problem then.

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate today and then again installed WampServer. I once again get a "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" when visiting the front end of Joomla - this time the PHP curl extension is enabled. The admind section is accessible and works perfectly.

Any ideas?

sounds you install joomla version not compatible w/ php5.3.x

I just had a look at the minimum requirements for Joomla;
PHP 4.3.x
MySQL 3.23
Apache 1.3 or above

The recommended requirements for Joomla
PHP 4.4.7
MySQL 4.1.22
Apache 1.3.9


The optimum requirements for Joomla
PHP 5.0.x series
MySQL 5.0.x series
Apache 2.0.61


The latest release of Wampserver have higher version the the minimum, recommended and optimum requiresments. What should I do to get things working?

download php 2.5.11 addon

Sadly, this is not possible!
PHP 5.12 would not even install as many files are corrupt.

did you get 2.5.11 through addon menu from top of this forums?

You initially said "download php 2.5.12 addon".
OK, I am downloading 5.11 now.

I downloaded, installed and when I switched PHP from 5.3.0 to 5.11, I get the following popup message from c:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.0\php.exe;

"This PHP version doesn't seem to be compatible with your actual Apache Version. Switch cancelled. Press ENTER to continue ..."

it should work w/ wamp 2i since I've just downloaded, installed php2.5.11 and also joomla w/o any problem

Something else, the localhost screen is completely blank.
The http 500 error also do not show any more - nor Joomla website.
