Hello,

Is there anyway that I can get wamp to start automatically when the system comes on? I have an application running locally on a local network and i want wamp to startup automatically and run in online mode when the workstation hosting the application comes on.

How do i go about that if its possible?

I dont understand what you said now. What i mean is that i dont want to be clicking on the icon for wamp everytime and then right clicking to put it online. Do you mean that if i drag the icon to start/programms/startup that wamp will automaticcally start up and run in online mode? please explain

Hello,

I just tried it out now. i first started wamp in online mode, placed the shortcut where you said i should and restarted my system. After the system restarted, Wamp didnt come up automatically like you said it would. Is it that it doesnt work with windows 7 and vista? if you have run it on a particular operating system and it works do let me know how.

I placed the wamp shorcut in this folder on my system

C:\Users\EYEKAY\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

I finally succeed to start the WAMP automatically using Win 7. The problem is related with UAC that not allow WAMP to start using User previllage. The solution is to run your WAMP server as Administrator.

This is the steps:
1. Activate your administrator user using this tutorial :
[maximumpcguides.com]

2. In my case, I delete all user and leave Administrator as Default User (even this step is not "wise" in terms of security.. whatever..)

3. Put the shortcut of WAMP Server into Startup folder, follow this tutorial:

and restart.... it work for me!

good luck

Using Windows 7, I went into Control Panel -> Services

I changed the settings for "wampapache" and "wampmysql" to start: "Automatic".

After that, when I restart my Win7 machine, both services start automatically before I even log into the machine. Surely this is better than the windows start menu "Startup" group which requires that the correct user be logged in before wamp starts.

The best way to start WampServer automatically is to schedule a task on user log on. These are the steps:

1. Open Task Scheduler by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-clicking Task Scheduler.

2. Create Task...

3. In tab General only change:
Name: WampServer
[X] Run with highest privileges

4. In tab Triggers click New... and change:
Begin the task: At log on

5. In tab Actions click New... and change:
Program script: (browse for wampmanager, normally: C:\wamp\wampmanager.exe)
Start in (optional): (normally: C:\wamp)

6. In tab Settings only change:
[ ] Stop the task if it runs longer than:
[ ] If the task does not end when requested, force it to stop

7. Click OK, close windows and restart.

You should see the wampserver icon in the tray.

Regards!

check this link.

here you get info on running the service, running the wamp manager is not essential unless you want to change any settings.
