WampServer

Hi guys,

Let me out of this following trouble:

After Installing the latest version of wampserver and local web. everything worked as I wanted. After Restarting my pc and click wampserver icon. Pop up window came up, said:

"Aestan Tray Menu has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. if you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost"

Then I Close the pop up window, and appeared another pop up window, said:

"Application Error:
Exception exception in module wampmanager.exe at 00000f15A0 could not execute run action : access is denied ".


Whts wrong?

You should wait at least five seconds to be sure wamp menu is fully available.
Else, if you ask it to do something, then tell it to do anything else, it will show this message.

If it is that, you should relaunch wamp and see if your modifications are well applied...

it doesn't work. . It shwoed the same pop up window

restarting the server did it for me

how do you restart the server??? because l get the same error message with the newest version of wamp...

What is your problem exactly ? What is the error message ?
Please copy the lines from wampmanger.ini file using lines number in error message.

Hi,

If You have knowledge about PHP then do this process:

Its a very simple process. Go to C:\wamp folder and open 'wampmanager.ini' file in dreamweaver and go to that line where it is showing error. and try to find what is error (if you have knowledge about PHP) and remove it. and now click on 'wampmanager.exe' icon in this folder. you will get wamp server has been started if you have solved issue.

If you have no knowledge about PHP then you should do this:

Send me lines where you are getting errors.

I have the same problem,
I have never yet had the system running as soon as the install program finnishes and offers to run wampserver I get the error message "Aestan Tray Menu has encounted a problem" etc

I have install it several times now and run it on a different computer at work and I get the exact same error messages.
also when attempting to run any of the binarys I get a "not a valid win32 application" message - eg: mysql.exe -

has someone checked the download files, could they have been corupted ???

The problem seems to be a total brick wall
not one of the files can be run

when i run wamp,its icon turns on and off and i get the aestan Tray Menu,please help me,i have XP windows.

I am getting the same error. I am running Windows XP in VMware Player.

IIS is not installed
Host file is correct

Not sure what is up, any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

I learned from another thread on this forum that the newest version of the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable (VC++ 2008 SP1 redistributable) must be installed. Download that from the Microsoft website and install it. The Aestan Tray Menu problem is gone. Thanks to "edyakamenk" for this solution.

Maybe this has already been discussed elsewhere, but this thread IS the main google thread that pops up w/ the tray icon error and where I ended up:

Just wanted to add that the Download link on the MAIN page for the (Wamp 2.2E php5.3 build) warns as well as links to Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable.

But you need v2008 NOT v2010 (at least for my particular XP SPak3 machine and perhaps others).

NOTE:
Both 2008 and 2010 Redistributable files will be named the same i.e. (vcredist_x86.exe) adding a bit more confusion.

You need both,

The menu needs 2008 in x86 regardless of the architecture you downloaded

Apache needs 2010 x86/x64 depending on the architecture or wamp downloaded

I have Win XP SP3 and was getting the Aestan tray error.

I first installed the latest version of Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable (as suggested when downloading WAMP), installed Wampmanager 32bit, and got the error upon first launch.

I googled the error message to find this page, then read about installing the 2008 version of Visual C++ Redistributable. DLed and installed tje 2008 version and now the error is gone.

I got the same error while trying to install WampServer on Windows XP SP3 (with only the VC2010 installed).

The WampServer installation worked without any errors AFTER I installed BOTH VC2008 and VC2010.

WampServer 2.5 will not run on Windows XP.



WampServer 2.5 includes, among others , Apache 2.4.9 and PHP 5.5.12 that are "compiled" with Visual C++ 2012, more commonly referred to as VC11.

The VC11 library will not run on Windows XP, even SP3 or Windows Server 2003, so the minimum system requirements to run WAMPServer 2.5 are:
Windows 7 SP1 ,
Windows 8/8.1 ,
Windows Vista SP2 ,
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 ,
Windows Server 2012/R2.
