Backups(Beginner)

Hi

Thanks for the much appreciated invaluable troubleshooting tips.

I'm following the tutorials in the links provided, but I have one problem though i.r.o. the backups so far.

This is the instruction in the backup tut. , but I don't find the line as stipulated in the my.ini folder of Mysql5.1.30., namely:

Open file my.ini in folder C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.0.xx and find this line:
default-storage-engine=INNODB
Change to:
default-storage-engine=MyISAM

However, I found this line:
default-storage-engine=<<{MIXED|INNODB:INNODB}{:MYISAM}>> in the file (my-template) in the C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.30 directory.

Therefore, what do I have to change or is it necessary to run a sync backup for version Mysql5.1.30?

Is there anyone who can advise? Thanks.

default-storage-engine=MyISAM
This line is keypoint, so just comment out the original line and add this line right under it ;-)

Thank you for the reply.

Just to stress that the line is not in the (My) file, but in the (My-template) file in MySql5.1.3.0.

Are you stating that it is ok if I change it in the (My-template) file if the the line is not in the (My) file in MySql5.1.30?

Thanks

I have the same issues as above. I cannot

Open file my.ini in folder C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.0.xx and find this line:
default-storage-engine=INNODB
Change to:
default-storage-engine=MyISAM

since these lines are no where to be found in the files that it states to find them in.

Any help with this would be wonderful.

Sorry but how in the world do you comment out a line that just is not there. I understand that I have to comment it out however it is no where to be found where you state it is.

So the question that was asked by rsolomon, which was

However, I found this line:
default-storage-engine=<<{MIXED|INNODB:INNODB}{:MYISAM}>> in the file (my-template) in the C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.30 directory.

Therefore, what do I have to change or is it necessary to run a sync backup for version Mysql5.1.30?

so is this where we are to find the file needed to comment out?

Yes several times. Is there a special places it should be installed or can I save it where I want?

I have downloaded WampServer2.0h.exe because I need to use it together with Drupal 6.

Is there another package I could use instead without all this problems?

I have done the same as this person [learnbythedrop.com] but I'm on SP3 and I don't have default-storage-engine=INNODB but just put default-storage-engine=MyISAM in the end of the file. Haven't started Drupal yet because of this phpmyadmin problem. :-(
