Having just downloaded Wampserver2 I found that when I type [localhost] into the browser I get the 'page not found' message. Any ideas why this would be? I've set the www dir to be under the d drive.

Problem solved! FYI - after reading some of the other threads I found out that the problem was a port conflict between Skype and Wampserver. Localhost was correctly resolved after I uninstalled Skype and rebooted.

This worked for me, in Skype, selecting Tools | Options | Advanced | Connection, and then unchecking the option "Use Port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections".

Perhaps this could be added to a Readme.txt file, and displayed automatically after installing wampserver for the first time.

changes the port to 81
unchecked the checkbox in skype.
closed all the programs- skype, avg, msn etc.
removed localhost from my host file
Nothing sad smiley

run a command line in vista and type "ipconfig /all" and pick one of those IP's and by that you can connect to the wampserver. so if yout PC has an IP 192.168.2.5 and you set the port in wamp to 81, type in your browser http:// 192.168.2.5:81
