Setting up Database by just creating a file

Hey all - In use of other servers - I would just take and create a folder in the correct area of the filing system in the server software - then use NaviCat mySql to dump a database in there.

I am looking for something like that with wamp. Where do you create the folder or database at - I don't use phpmyadmin much at all - very confusing for a new person - heck even a more experienced person would have problems there.

I use NaviCat and just need to create a database for each of the sites I currently have running on a live server - then once done - download each database to sync it up with the live server via NaviCat.

Can anyone give me any pointers to how I could work with wamp this way? I would really appreciate it alot.

Also the file structure once downloaded from the live server is www.whatever.com - any changes needing to be made to the file structure to make it work locally? such as a search and replace for www. - changed to localhost.whatever.com?

Thanks all... Allen
