#2002 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).

Please help me the issue

How can I answer to ALL questions, I am already told that

1. (W10 32 bit)
2. Wampserver 2.5
3. Apache Version :2.4.9
4. PHP Version :5.5.12
5. Server Software:Apache/2.4.9 (Win32) PHP/5.5.12

7. My Wampserver shows green icon.

I am unable to connect the phpmyadmin. It shows Access denied. The message is:

This sounds like MYSQL is not actually running, or maybe you have another MYSQL Server installed on your system.

Did you try to install MYSQL manually before trying WAMPServer?

Look at Windows Services
CTRL+R
Enter services.msc
Press the OK button

WAMPServers MySQL service is called `wampmysqld`

If you installed MYSQL another way there may also be a service called just `MYSQL`

If this is the case, the solution is to uninstall the other MYSQL Server, after backing up any databases you may want to keep. You can then restore those databases to the WAMPServer MYSQL Server

Hi,

Not at ALL !

7 - In the file c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, what are the active lines with the name [localhost] in them?
* Active means no # at the beginning of the line.

8 - Do you have access to localhost (Homepage WampServer)?
--------------

Do you have access to the MySQL Console?
- Wampmanager Tray Icon -> MySQL -> MySQL Console
At the password prompt hit Return key as there is no password.

See errors (error only, not all messages) in wamp\logs\mysql.log file.

Hi,

Why do you answer half of the questions put to you?

Do you have access to the MySQL Console?
- Wampmanager Tray Icon -> MySQL -> MySQL Console
At the password prompt hit Return key as there is no password.

Yes I have access to the MySQL Console

When I Wampmanager Tray Icon -> phpMyAdmin

It shows the access denied and got the message:

#2002 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).

Hi,

What are the lines without # at the beginning in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file

For information: It is question N°7 of READ BEFORE YOU ASK A QUESTION

Only 1 # line
the hosts file is given below:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

127.0.0.1 localhost

Hi,

- Mysql log said :
2016-04-07 10:49:31 4120 [Note] - '::' resolves to '::';
2016-04-07 10:49:31 4120 [Note] Server socket created on IP: '::'.

That is to say that MySQL is connected with a socket IPv6

- Error said :
... or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).

In the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file you need to have only this two lines :
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

Hi,

Sorry, but the contents of the hosts file is not taken into account by Windows just after editing it!

For this to be taken into account, you have two options:
- 1 - Quit Wampserver then restart Windows.

- 2 - Quit Wampserver
- Open a command Windows as an administrator
- In the command Windows type the following commands

ipconfig /flushdns
net stop dnscache
net start dnscache

I just follow your step but still now we have face the same issue .

Access denied

#2002 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).
