wampappache is not working

my wampappache is not working.my operating system is windows vista home basic.The error message is :
"windows could not start the wamp appache on local computer."wampappache 2.2.8 32 bit

Are you sure you installed the correct WAMP. If you have VISTA 32 bit you must use WAMP 32 bit.

i have just installed the latest wamp 32 on my vista machine and it wont start.
Apache 2.2.22 – Mysql 5.5.24 – PHP 5.4.3 XDebug 2.1.2 XDC 1.5 PhpMyadmin 3.4.10.1 SQLBuddy 1.3.3 webGrind 1.0

could there be an older version of wamp that works with vista ?

That should work on vista. What actual error mesage are you getting and did you read the STICKY on the forum about required Microsoft C runtimes that are required to run wamp manager and Apache?

OK i dont know why, but this is what fixed it
install 2008 ms runtimes
then overwrite with 2010
cheers.

you need the 2008 and the 2010 , it doesnt overwrite!
