Hi,
I've just installed wamp on a win xp home SP3 32 bit PC.
I've followed the instructions and installed (before) the VC++ package.

The version I've installed is Apache 2.2.22 – Mysql 5.5.24 – PHP 5.4.3 XDebug 2.1.2 XDC 1.5 PhpMyadmin 3.4.10.1 SQLBuddy 1.3.3 webGrind 1.0

When I try to launch the software I get the error message in subject. I've read another thread about but haven't found a solution.

Please note that the PC was just formatted and re-installed, no programs except chrome and wamp.

Any help?

Thanks a lot!

If you want to get teamviewer i will debug the exe for you.

the common issue for this is that you havent actually installed the vc++ 2008 SP1 X86 REDIS.

But if you have, and your not getting any stop or exit code, then the only way forward is to have it debugged

Hi and thank for your reply,
I've actually installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) (the one specified in the download page), not the 2008.

The 2010 is for apache.

it would have been assumed that 2008 is installed if you have updates on (its 2013!)

add remove programs , it would be listed

i guess it would not be installed anymore if you reinstalled.

just install it from google

"vc++ 2008 sp1 x86 redis"

Dilruk,

If the wamp icon stays at orange it means that the Apache service has not started.

Do this to find out why, its usually taht some other service has grabbed port 80 before you start wamp.

left click on wampmanager icon -> Apache -> Service -> Test port 80

This will open a command window and run a bit of code that will tell you what is using port 80.

Whatever it is needs to be re-configured to stop it using port 80 or uninstalled.

If you are not sure get back to us with info on what is using port 80 and we will offer suggestions
