You forget to enable php_mysqli extension. To enable it: click on PHP menu in Wamp tray icon. Then go to Extension submenu and scroll down the list to find php_mysqli. Click on it to enable it. Then you should see the WAMP Tray Icon turns yellow then it will turn white again (it means Wamp restart is success)

You should delete the wamp folder to leave no old config left after you uninstall WAMP.

Tough luck. You might consider the alternative. Read my post at ";. For some tweaking, you might copy the wamp PHP folder to get the PHP5 version. Then you can download apache2.2 to work with PHP5.

I have mysql version 5.1.23 running with wamp server. If you keep the mysql database folder as the original latest version 5.1.23, then only open phpmyadmin after mysql5.1.23 runs successfully. Then just type root as username and no password if you see the phpmyadmin login window.

I've got the same error 'Call to undefined function ftp_ssl_connect()' eventhough I enabled php_openssl and add an Environment variable PATH pointing to wamp\bin\php\php5.2.5 I don't think the wamp server2 is compiled with ssl ftp eventhough php_openssl can be enabled. You can follow my steps to install the latest version of mysql on Wamp2 ************** ****STEP1**** -> copy the whole folder mysql5.#.## to wamp\bin\mysql where # represents a number. ************** Check if the folder mysql and all database files in it actually exist in mysql5.#.##\data folder. I have installed wamserver 2.0b too and I don't have any problem excuting all the steps written. The openssl.cnf file can be copied to bin directory or you can change -config option to the correct location of openssl.cnf.

I assume you know DOS commands. Use these two commands without quotes: "cd /d C:\" and then "cd wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.8\bin". apache2.2.8 must be changed to what folder you have on your wamp server. Check my post at . It's my latest version of SSL setup guide.
