ohhh u r not using phpmyadmin to import? then i dunno . sorry. shut down server and run something that u know works well on it. and see if its slower.

open up ur dump file, is it in utf8 encdoing? ul see it near the top of it and make sure u set mysql to use issam or innobd - which ever this dump file is made in

hoold on a min, wampserver2.0 wwhich is the new version does use the php filel in the wamp folder. in fact this version only uses things in the wamp folder. u must not be uninstalling everything wen u reinstall.

i cant belive someone is using their own weberver and yet doesnt know how to do this, just make a shortcut of your startwampserver on the desktop then open the folder c:\doc and setting\user\windows\startup and drop the short cut into it everytime windows starta it will run any program in this folder and wamp will open up on red but will go white and be online inabout 30secs

ok do this for me, end wamp. left click the wamp icon and press stop all services go into C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.0.45\data\mysql and delete the three files USER.MYI USER.FRM USER MYD and replace them with the copies iv uploaded on my server for u at this link>> put these 3files back into the folder then restart wamp by left clicking wamp icon and press sta

u need to restart wamp wen u wanna go to wamps localhost in the broswer u need to type in localhost:8080 localhost will bring u to iis server

if u have apache set up for port 81 anyting in the www folder in wamp will be on port 81

did u chage to 81? maybe iis uses 81 too use 8080 as for the other question- yes its possible but not worth it. instead move ur database files into the new mysql

well first--- u need to get there search as a string varibile---- spilt it at each gap and strip them , save them as varibles so like $search would be split into $word1 , $word2 etc etc or use a n array if ur comforablt with them then use FETCH to fetch the row that contains the both varibles-- this way u wont need to worry abouit the order they write them in ne

yes change it to port 81 open httpd.conf in c://wamp/bin/apache/apache/conf go to listen 80 and change to listen 81 and restart

your selecting everything from a table then u have a refinment? seems strange to do that and i sunno if u can do that wat exactly are u trying to get from database as iv never needed to use match or against and iv done some complicated selects

just to let anyone know i got wampserver2 and zone alarm working together. I installed wamp first. then installed zone alarm. It found httpd.exe and mysql-nt.exe and i just allowed them run as servers. and it works fine. iv tried it on XP SP1, XP SP2 and vista premium 32bit with no problems.

i dont think this is a permissions problem as u describe. the red icon means 0 of 2 services started. possibly there is a conflicting program running on this pc such as - zone alarm or skype. these all conflict on port 80
