Don't give up so easy like that! If your MySQL couldn't start mean that you've already had a problem with installation. Besides firewall, try to figure out if anything like IIS, skies, or any other program might prevent wamp installation perfectly. Also check if your ip provider have port 80 locked or not. Better start with the unit that only has windows sp1; if sp2, disable windows firewal

What do you mean for uploading? You are A SERVER already, just store your web album in www folder, then provide the link for others to see it. For example: Or if only for local network: Or if you already own a domain and have dns service already, and want others to upload and download web album from your server, you might need ftp server or something similar Hope this help

Disable firewall from windows sp2, then use third party firewall with port 80 enable, one firewall is more than enough already. Remember, other computers must be in the same local network with wamp unit since you don't have router, so I'm not sure how you can have all computers in the same network though. OK, let me make it clear. Firewall from sp2 is different from third party such as Norton or McAfee, so even you already enable port 80 of third party firewall but did not disable firewall from sp2, it still prevents accessible. Other computers must be in your local network to access; otherwise, you need dns to access worlwide, and yes, websites is accessible woldwide using web ip when having dn

You've already got your web ip through . With the other, the basic step, I guess you've already knew, is to use command prompt ipconfig/all on your unit that has wamp. Also, if you have sp2, remember to disable firewall from windows. Post Edited (07-07-06 16:44)

Yes, I think it's wrong cause you should try the ip of the computer installed wamp instead your web ip, and correct me if I'm wrong because now I already own a domain, your web ip only work when you have dns service, then you can use your web ip instead domain name. Hope this help Post Edited (07-07-06 14:41)

Glad to help. By the way, to access your sites worldwide, all you need is a domain and DNS service, and of course, configure Virtual Host in wamp/apache2/conf/httpd.conf. For dns, you can find some free service like dyndns.org, zoneedit.com, so on, I personally use zoneedit. For domain, you can find cheap domain or even free; I personally go for Yahoo with only $3/yr up to 5 yrs, so total $15/5yr

1. To change document roots, configure Virtual Host in wamp/apache2/conf/httpd.conf. Search this forum for VH, you might run into some of my old post or better from CyberSpatium. 2+3+4. To access your sites worldwide, you need DNS service and domain; however, with domain, if want to save money, you can use your web ip instead. Remember to enable ports forward in your router as well as firewall. H

Do you see your php welcome page in equipo2 when you type as follows? [127.0.0.1] (not your web ip) Try it then post back here. EDIT: You might need to enable port forward in your router and firewall. Port 80 for web http, 21 for ftp, and mail server needs 3 ports which are 25 for SMTP, 110 for POP3, and 143 for IMAP4, so on. Hope this help. Post Edited (07-05-06 16:12)

I don't think this is the right forum for this topic; anyway, just install one of some free ftp server (google it) for windows; then configure document root for your ftp in VH, and you're good to go. Remember, some support browser, some support remote control, and some others support multiple drives include network drives, so on. You might not get all features as desire, so try some then decide w

Mostly answer your questions is Virtual Host (VH) that can be configured in wamp/Apache2/conf/httpd.conf, in which your document roots can be set up as your desire. For example, all files for my web server, all data for my ftp server's accounts, all data for my mail server's accounts, and all data for my forum is resided in my network drives; of course, they are configured through VH. If you want to have a button to use with form, why not use html/javascript instead. For wamp, as mention before, there must be something in your system that prevents wamp to work. Better start with an unit that only has windows, then merge with your network then figure out the problem for there. Hope this help

Install, uninstall and re-install too many times on many differents computers but never see this problem, so the question is besides firewall, has anything else in your computer might cause that problem.
