Thanks for the help. I updated (actually, I reinstalled!) Cygwin and added the path and pathext and after I got things working in Cygwin, the terminal in NetBeans seems to be working just fine now. The help is much appreciated

I am trying to use PHP in CLI using the Terminal Window in NetBeans. But despite adding the php.exe location in the WAMP to the System Variables PATH, I am unable to run PHP commands. Any ideas or notes on how to solve this would be much appreciated.

Hi Steve and Charlie, Just a quick note to say I switched to 32bit WAMP and it has worked first time. All that remains is a simple Symfony2 install and the dreaded "Compsoer" update to the vendors files! I think my next stop may be the Symfony Forums! Thanks for all of the help.

I like the new site. I particularly like having the ability to easily download whatever versions of APACHE/PHP/MySQL my project demands as it allows me to "match" any customer projects or match my own servers. The new site is clean, simple and easy to navigate. We need documentation for sure, but most answers can be found in the forum with a bit of digging. But it would be nice

How can I tell if the APC extension has loaded correctly? I had been posting in a previous topic , but I decided to have one last effort at getting the 64bit version of the server working with APC before giving up and reverting to 32bit. And WOW! It seems to have worked! I used the dll from here -----> and miraculously it seems to have worked first time, WAMP server is running just fi

Brilliant, thanks Steve.... And of course the other issue is that there are settings and extensions that are enabled by default... Just managed to work that one out as your reply arrived. Strange as it may seem, I am enjoying getting my head around the WAMP server and its settings and ini file! I suspect my life may be sadder than I originally thought!

If an Extension is shown as "loaded" on the PHPinfo page ( ) Does this mean that the Extension is loaded but not necessarily enabled, or does it mean that it is also enabled?

Thanks for the Info Steve.... Beginning to think I should have stuck to WordPress plugins for additional funtionality! (Only joking, I am loving getting my head around new stuff and since I have no formal training, it is only by reading or asking daft questions in forums or simply trying stuff that I can learn). I will try the suggested dll for Windows 7. I am still a bit confused ab

Hi Steve/Charlie, I downloaded the 64 vc9 ts version and dropped it into the wamp/bin/php/php5.4.3/ext/ file but I was unsure whether I needed to make any changes to the php.ini file. Whilst I have some help with you guys online, could somebody please explain dll files to me (what are they and how do they work) and also the significance of "thread safe". I know that this isnt nece
