RiggsFolly, I don't remember now if the MySQL. password that I set up was for 'root@localhost', it could have been for grace@localhost or something else. It looks to me like WampServer is a web Development platform that is made for use with Apache. I am a newbie and very green, so pardon any misunderstanding hat I may have. I was under the impression that one was made to be useful when you have the other. Just Learning so I am dinkin' around with stuff to see what can be made to work. I am running PHP 5.3.8, JAVA 1.6.0_31, Apache 2.2, Mysql 5.5.24. I installed wampserver 2.2. the Apache service monitor now shows wampapache as being present, but it is not started. and there seems to be a problem opening the Apache error log.
