Wamp Servcer Icon in Orange. Apache doesn't start

My wamp server used to work fine 2 months ago. I have come back on it now and it doesn't change to green from orange.

When I do Test port 80 it says 'Your port 80 is not actually used'.

When I try to start the service manually the error says 'Windows could not start the wampapache on local computer. For more info, review the system event log.....'

Please help?

Thanks

I found a fix here.

I'm running Windows 8 64-bit. It seems that Windows already has something called IIS running on the same port that WAMP Server defaults to for Apache (port 80), so you have to change the port. The link explains how.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. Steven was kind enough to sort the problem. I made some changes to HTTPD.CONF file which caused it.

Nice. If others need to change the port, I found that you can make the links in the wampserver menu that point to phpMyAdmin and localhost by editing the wampmanager.ini file. It's in the root install folder for wampserver. I just did a find/replace for "localhost" and changed it to "localhost:8080" as I was using port 8080 on my machine.

Killing Skype, stopping and starting all services did the trick for me.
