WampServer

HelloI need some help with Wamp.


I just installed Visual C++ x86 and after that Wamp 2.2 - 32 bits. but I can't really do anything more cuz it's still orange - and if I click start all services - nothing happens
when I click localhost - I just go to Server Error in '' Application.

If the icon is orange then either Apache or mysql has not started.

Its usually Apache and normally because some other process has already grabbed port 80.


Do wampmanager -> Apache -> Service -> Test port 80
This will start a command window and give you a message identifying what process has port 80 assigned ( if it can ).

Its usually one of :
SKYPE : Reconfigure SKYPE not to use port 80
IIS: and associated stuff, Stop these IIS processes and then disable them. ( info on how to in google )

If something does not make sence post another message.

Is it possible to change the port no for wamp?

Yes but it would be better to change Autodesk.

Webservers are supposed to use port 80, and browsers are designed to expect it even though you can make them look at any port.
