IF your wampmanager icon is GREEN try this

Use this address in the browser

http :// 127.0.0.1

Without the spaces before and after the :// ( the forum does wierd stuff with urls by default )

If that gets you to the wampserver index page do this

Edit your hosts file ( located in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts ( no extension )
See notes below on how to edit the hosts file.

ENDIF

IF your wampserver is NOT GREEN then some other process has probably grabbed port 80.

Run wampmanager -> Apache -> Test Port 80

That should identify the process that has captured the port 80 tha apache need to run.
Either Uninstall, deactivate or reconfigure that process in some way.

ENDIF

If yuo cannot fix it post the info that the port 80 test shows you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The hosts file is protected by windows, in order to save it you must have Administrator privilages.
Vista/W7/W8 you may think you are an Administrator BUT YOU ARE NOT.

To successfully save the hosts file do this to launch your editor with Admin Privilages.

Locate your editors icon on the desktop or from the Start menus ( notepad will do if you have nothing else )
left click + shift over your chosen editor icon - will show a menu.
select "Run As Administrator" from the menu.
Navigate your editor to the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file.

When you have made changes you will now be allowed to save them.

Thanks Riggs for your reply,
port 80 having some issue
aquia drupal has occupied port:8082
web metrix has occupied port:8085
No any other application is in my PC which occupy port:80, after these all i can't able to access port:80.

then
I have turn off firewall, but it's not fruitful.

then
I have made few changes in "httpd.conf". "put Listen 3000" instead of "Listen 80". and restart the server.
then symbol of WAMP becomes green but if i click on "phpmyadmin","sqlbuddy"."webgrind" then i am getting 403: forbidden.

if again i turn back to port:80,WAMP symbol again becomes orange, getting 404: not found on my browser, and if i click on menu items of WAMP app window it starts showing message mentioned below:-
"could not execute menu item(internal error)[Exception]
could not perform service action:The service has not been started".

i have tried with different browser (like internet explorer and chrome) by making change in "wampmanager.conf" and change "navigator = "C:\Windows\explorer.exe""

i want to access port 80.
so according to u(Riggs) what can i do, kindly help me out from this brain busting problem.
