install error message

After installing WAMP Server, and launching the application from the install wizard, I get the error message "The proceedure entry point php_set_error_handling could not be located in the dynamic link library php5ts.dll." php-win.exe - Entry Point Not Found

Even though WAMP appears to be working ok otherwise, I can not launch phpAdmin either.

Help!

I read your other post as well.

You have got yourself in a right pickle.

Based on what you said on the other post ( changed mysql to use port 80 .... BAD ) i suggest you uninstall wamp ( properly via add remove programs ) Then delete the wamp folder completely.

Then start the install again to undo this and anything else you may have tried.

While you are doing that reply with the following info

1. what wamp you installed,
2. what OS you are running ( 32/64 bit)
3. the colour of you wamp manager icon
4. can you see the wamp home page when you do wampmanager -> localhost
5. what you may have changed from the base install to try and get things working.
6. Did you see this below and have you checked that these dll's are installed

For Windows 32 : Be sure that you have installed the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x86
: VC10 SP1 vcredist_x86.exe >>[www.microsoft.com]

For Windows 64 : Be sure that you have installed the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x64
: VC10 SP1 vcredist_x64.exe >>[www.microsoft.com]

Apache will not run without this component

( VC++ 2008 Must also be installed as the WampServer menu uses libraries from - it should be installed by default in most versions of Windows , just check Add/Remove programs to see if its listed)

Ok, I completely uninstalled WAMP, then reinstalled it from
wampserver2.2e-php5.3.13-httpd2.2.22-mysql5.5.24-32b.exe, but not before installing the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x86: VC10 SP1 vcredist_x86.exe (I have a 32 bit system)

This time I did not get the Entry Point error upon install completion, as I had before.

But I still cannot access phpAdmin.

The error message when trying to access phpAdmin is the same as before: The mysqli extension is missing. Please check your PHP configuration.

The file php_mysqli.dll is in the WAMP\bin\php3.13\ext directory, and in the PHP.ini file, the Directives extension=php_mysql.dll
extension=php_mysqli.dll
are there, and not prefaced with a ;

Also in the php.ini file, the php extensions_dir is set, as shown below.
extension_dir = "c:/wamp/bin/php/php5.3.13/ext/"

My Windows version is XP professional, version 2002, service pack 3.
My WAMP version is 2.2
Apache version 2.2.22
php version 5.3.13
and mysql 5.5.24
My wamp manager icon is green
and yes, I see the wamp home page

From the included WAMP starting page, phpinfo comes up just fine, but not phpAdmin.

In looking at the phpinfo page, I noticed the following two things are wrong:
Configuration File (php.ini) Path C:\WINDOWS
Loaded Configuration File C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini
Is this information loaded from the Windows registry?

Thanks again.

no its wrong, you installed PHP seperatly at some point.

goto C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini and delete it

restart wamp

Yes, I had php installed before. but now there is no C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini, my previous installation of both php and mysql were both properly and totally removed before installing WAMP again.

This is why I wondered if the phpinfo is getting it's information from the windows registry.

Thanks. Was it the computer reboot that set everything right, or did you do something I didn't see? As I mentioned, I had a power outage here, so there was an unintentional reboot.
