I was using wamp 2.1 on one particular pc with xpwin-prof.sp3.32bit without any problem. Then i uninstall it, remove everything in wamp folder and install v2.2. Unfortunately on starting it failed to put up the Aestan Tray menu. Reading some of response on this forum, i check and ensure that vc 2008-10 is installed but still this problem occur.

I try to understand the following suggestions from this site on this matter

If it reports Apache as using port 80, pay attention to the version numbers of apache and php that is shows. If these are the old apache/php versions then you didnt uninstall properly and can try this.
sc delete wampapache
sc delete wampmysql
This will unregister the old versions services.
wampmanager -> apache ->service -> Install Service
wampmanager -> mysql ->service -> Install Service

I can't make them out as wampmanager did not start at all.

Please help because i really want to use the new version which is working fine in 3 other pc wiht xpwin-prof.sp3.

Earlier version use is 2.1 ?????, cant remember details

I was suggesting that you had not uninstalled your first wamp properly. Those commands when issued from a command windows ( run as administrator) would have removed the apache and mysql that I assumed were still registered as services and possibly still running in your system.

If you did uninstall your first wamp properly then my first suggestion would not be any use to you.

Read the sticky note on the forum, and make sure you have this installed as well

For Windows 32 : Be sure that you have installed the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x86
: VC10 SP1 vcredist_x86.exe >>[www.microsoft.com]

I have only install the following in the problem PC
4,995,416 vcredist_x86.exe

Funny though, the other PCs that run ok, the following are in the installed program
VC++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.30729.4148
VC++ 2010 x86 Redistributable 10.0.40219

Will certainly try out installing the SP1 as suggested BUT ...
your suggested link seem to end up with the same .exe above that i already installed.

Seem we are back to square one. HELP,

On Teamview, sorry mate, the PC having this problem don't have internet access. Give me some lead to tinker with please.

Reading another message, it seems that .net v3 is required. On PC that has no problem there is .net v3 sp2, max .net 3.5 sp1. Will check if this is the abnormality.

For feedback to other user with the same Aestan error using wampserver2.2e-php5.4.3-httpd2.2.22-mysql5.5.24-32b.exe

1) .net v3.0 is required (.net v2 is not enough) - to fix Asestan problem
2) VC++ 2010 x86 Redistributable 10.0.40219 using 4,995,416 vcredist_x86.exe - to fix msvcr100.dll problem

Hope this clear the air. Thanks anyway for the attention.

.net anything is not needed

C++ 2008 redis x86 is required by wamp manager.exe regardless of architecure
C++ 2010 redis x86/x64 is required by apache >2.2.22

Steven but after only after i installed .net 3.5 the tray appeared. More
1 All pc that are ok has .net 3.5 (3 pc in all)
2 Pc has problem, there is vc 2010 but no .net 3.5
3 In one of the post here, mention of missing .net below 4, hence i tinker with .net 3.5
4 The problem pc has no internet connection, thus no auto updates thus missed out on .net 3.5. It has only sp3 that comes with vc 2010.

So i really don't know.

More just copied this from a thread from Rudy, Tray stop working that prompted me to check my .net situation on the problem pc.

That's working now !

Unlike WAMPserver 2.0 that work with .Net frame 4, Wampserver 2.1 and 2.2 requiere old .Net 3.x

Like I said , they don't need .net

It only needs the redist 2008 x86 pack SP 1

You didn't actually install this, it is included in .net but you don't need all of .net



Also there is no differnece in aestan tray menu included in wamp from version 1.3 up to 2.2e

Just to keep this right, you are saying that

1 .net 3 has redist 2008 x86 pack SP 1
2 4,995,416 vcredist_x86.exe which i install don't have the above. See the following from RiggsFolly

Control panel, after installation has VC ++ 2008 redistributable 9.0.30729.4148

No I didn't mean its bundled into the .net installer

When you installed .net3.5 it has the same

ieshims.dll
Ieframe.dll

That is included in the c++ 2008 sp1.


So to confirm

Wampmanager.exe need c++ 2008 sp1 x86 redist
Apache also needs c++ 2010 sp1 x86 or x64 depending if you have apache x86 or x64


To the best of my knowledge , you don't need any .net packages.
These are for developers. The redistribution packs are for exactly that purpose, to redistribute the software complied into c++
