Hi!

I downloaded Wamp server on my laptop and it works perfectly, when I got home I wanted to download it to my stationary computer so that I can work more effective.

After the completion of installing Wamp on my Stationary I can't access Localhost

When I click on localhost I get:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

- The Wamp icon is Green, so it is connected.
- I have tried changing the config on the file phpmyadmin to:

<Directory "c:/wamp/apps/phpmyadmin3.4.5/">
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
AllowOverride all
Order Deny,Allow
Allow from all
</Directory>

But this does not help! I tried to google my problem, and the solution above helped many, but not me.

I also saw something about resetmysql, I did try it, but I have no password anyways, so it didn't do much.

I am not skilled in this particular area, so please bear with me.

I am running Window 7 64 bit,
I am using WAMP server (Apache 2.2.22 – Mysql 5.5.24 – PHP 5.3.13 XDebug 2.1.2 XDC 1.5 PhpMyadmin 3.4.10.1 SQLBuddy 1.3.3 webGrind 1.0)
I have tried downloading the newest version, but still the same problem
I have uninstalled and installed the program multiple times.

Edit: I did not touch any settings right after I installed the Wamp server, I changed the config etc to try to solve the problem

Thanks for any help!

It worked!

Thanks a lot!

Do you have any idea what may have caused this problem?

That was not a solution ! That was a test

Goto c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc

Open the hosts file

Delete everything and just add

127.0.0.1 Localhost

Save, close all browsers and try again.

If you have trouble saving the file, move it to the desktop, edit it and move it back

If wamp manager icon is yellow/orange then on of the services ( apache or mysql ) has not started. Its probably apache that has not started.
This is usually because another process has grabbed port 80 before you get to start wamp.

Run this test please:

left click wamp manager icon _ Apache -> Services -> Test port 80

This should run a command window and tell you what is usig port 80.
