I enter http://127.0.0.1/ and get wamp server page. Localhost goes to a google page?

When I'm working on a site useing wamp I enter localhost/mysite and "mysite" will not appear.
now I must enter 127.0.0.1/mysite for "mysite" to open

When I just enter localhost I go to [uk.search-results.com] or some other Google site. not the wamp server page.

How can I fix this?
I was told to go into my hosts file and ensure I had 127.0.0.1 localhost on one line That did not work

need help.

Did you reboot after changing the hosts file.


Or do this from a command prompt launched with "Run as Administrator"

>net stop "DNS Client"
>net start "DNS Client"

The quotes are required.
If you dont know how to launch a command prompt as Administrator just reboot.

I did as you suggested and after entering net stop "DNS Client" This is what poped up
system error 5 has occured. Access is denied.
