I have Windows XP and the old WAMP installation (WampServer2.0c).

Now, the idea of updating the server for Windows 8.

What is an easy way to keep your previous settings for WAMP?

What files to save the old WAMP from?

Is it a new WAMP installation done completely from scratch?

which settings are you talking about?

are you talking about changes to apache/php/mysql configuration files?

these cant really be taken into the new version because they may not exist in the newer versions.

but you can take your projects with you for sure but since wamp2.2 is built with vc9 compiler you must uninstall wamp2.0

so you should save your c:\wamp\www folder somewhere else on your pc.

you also need to open phpmyadmin and export all of your databases into sql format and save this somewhere else.

then you need to uninstall wamp and additionally remove the wamp folder before installed 2.2

Note: if you want you can save the configuration files that you have edited, but i would reccommend against
swapping them with the configuration files in the new version. just keep them if you get an error you can check what value you had something set at.

I'm looking for the most easy ways to update the operating system to the new WAMP installation. I'm not a professional in WAMP.

SQL databases are not, but APACHE includes any changes / additions, but when I do not remember any more possible for all. EXIF image location, at least Google Maps.

Possibly also the PHP settings is something ....

Would it be something to for advice, etc for the upgrade / settings transfer?

I' am running wamp server v. 21 (64 bit on windows 8). Apache 2.2.17. I'd like to upgrade to the latest version, retaining Apache settings -> httpd.conf & extra/httpd-vhosts.conf

Can I achieve this easily?

Thanks
