WampServer

Hi Guys,

Would be obliged by your help to track down cause of orange wampserver manager icon. After researching the topic on this board, here's what I've got to date:

Installed Wampserver 64 Bit & PHP 5.3 version on Win 7 64 Bit

The wampserver manager icon is orange

I have installed Visual C++ 2010 SP1 x64

Teamviewer is not running

Skype is not running

I looked for IIS manager via Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools . . . but it doesn't appear amongst those tools

I also tried looking for IIS in Add/Remove programs via the Control Panel . . . but it doesn't appear in the list of installed programs either.

Apache > Service > Port Test says nothing is using port 80

(Reconfirmed using the netstat command from the command prompt)

Apache error log is empty

Found my way to Windows Event Viewer . . . but I don't know what I'm looking for :-\

Probeam is probably in your "HOSTS" file.

It looks like you have IPV6 / IPV4 confusion.


Copy C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts ( no extension ) to c:\

Edit it and comment out the line "::1 localhost" with a #

Make sure it has the line "127.0.0.1 localhost" uncommented

Reboot

And then launch Wampserver and left click on it to "Start all Services"

Wampserver Icon should go Green!

The file already had the properties you described . . . here's the relevant entries:

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost

So I didn't make any changes and just rebooted (since I hadn't done that since the wampserver install). But alas, no change . . . still orange.

I can do any time between 21:00 GMT and 23:45 GMT is that works for you.
