OS: Windows 7 Home
Browser: Firefox 14.0.1
Computer: Viao Intel 64bit duo core processor

Hello,

I am having problems in attempting to install Wampserver.

Initially when I downloaded it my Firewalls were up.
I downloaded and "repaired" the C++ 64 bit version.
I then downloaded and installed the Wampserver 64 bit 2.2E with no problems. It installed an icon on the Desktop and the system tray.
When I went to run it, it would not open.

I read a item where my Skype may conflict with it due to port 80. So I went in and disable the ability to use port 80 as an alternative.

I then uninstalled my WampServer. After the uninstall was complete, I rebooted my computer.

I then turned off my Firewalls and re-downloaded Wampserver and installed it.

As it was installing, it said that there a file C:wamp already exists and if I wanted to override it. I said yes.

It made the icons again, but it still will not open when I click on the icon.

Any thoughts??

TIA

Glenn Reihing

Part 2

Here is what I did since last post.

I uninstalled the product again.

I deleted the C://wamp file.

I then rebooted the computer.

This time I opened Windows Explorer 9 and went to the Website.

I turned off my firewall and downloaded and re-installed the product.

The same thing happen....

My SWAG (sincere wild-ass guess) is that when it "repaired" the C++ file it may have done something.

So now I'm stump...

Do you mean you are getting problems downloading i.e. copying the install to your PC.
OR
Are you having problems installing the downloaded wamp server install?

64Bit.
You mention you have a 64 bit processor but you dont specify you are running Windows 64bit.
Even so scrap it and install the 32 bit version, it works better and there is better ( simpler) support for all the various extensions.
