WampServer

I'm trying to make my computer a wampserver, once I download/run the thing and fire up the server, everything seems fine (i get the welcome screen when I go to localhost) \But I get the forbidden error when I try to use the phpmyadmin tool.

Do you know why

install not complete?

it sounds like it did complete..


looks like your system is not using the correct hosts file.


please edit it to only include


127.0.0.1 localhost

how do I edit that file, I assume its in wamp but where is it?

hosts file: This file is in the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ folder

when I try to edit that file with notepad, it says I dont have permission...

move it to the desktop

edit it


and move it back


delete everything in it

and just add one line


127.0.0.1 localhost
