Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:8080.

Hi, all
I just installed Wampserver and it installed succefully without errors but everytime i try local i get this errors

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:8080.

Google Chrome's connection attempt to localhost was rejected. The website may be down, or your network may not be properly configured.

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

respectively for all browser.
can you pls help me out.

u didnt mention that you swapped wamp to port 8080 so why are you writing it?


just use localhost

Yes swapped wamp to port 8080 and i use localhost and it gives all the errors

why did you swap it?

use port 80 ,

Hi, I have the same problem.

First I got error messages but that was resolved trough fixes suggested in this forum.

When I tested port 80 it said it was taken by Microsoft-ISS/7.0 I got suggestions to change to 8080 and so i did, and the device went on-line.

However, localhost is just empty when opened, a big white space without anything

When I do this: [localhost]
It says the url is broken

When I do this: [localhost]
I get this: The requested URL /www/index.php was not found on this server.

[localhost]
It says the url is broken

Any suggestions for where to dig further would be appreciated!

Use localhost:8080


But best to uninstall IIS and set it back to port 80 so u don't need to write the port

Well, as mentioned I got error messages opening localhost: 8080 as well
I get this: The requested URL /www/index.php was not found on this server.

How do I uninstall IIS?

U don't write www

That's the root

So it's just. Localhost:8080/filename.php

It's in add:remove programs> components/features

port 80 is used by IIS 7 and I have asked it to listen 8080...but its not working

Pls I need help because after the download,the wamp server icon as red as metal in fire.It is not changing and
