Install MySQL on Different Drive Letter

Am using a local Network Server - no Internet.

Need to install WAMP on C: except for the database content which needs to be stored on D:

Is there a way to install WAMP on C and have MySQL files (data) reside on D?

I was thinking that I could just load WAMP as usual, then load a separate copy of MySQL on D. If that is done, how do I tell Apache and PHP it's on D and not C?

Should I just load Apache, PHP, and MySQL as three separate applications (do not use WAMP) - would that be easier?

TIA

Leave wamp and MySQL on c.

Just hangs the datadir to the d drive in the my.ini file

Made the changes as suggested, restarted WAMP Server, and all seems to be working fine.

I renamed the directory on C just to be safe and do see data being written on D.

This is a big help; thank you very much.

Hmm, it won't work on my installation... I changed the directory in my.ini file, and when I restart wamp, the icon stays orange, and when I open my projects are blank, even though I know I have something there.

In the previous wamp version 2.0 I changed the location in httpd.conf, but when I do that now, I get an error when opening localhost: "You don't have permission to access / on this server."

I installed the 64bit version on win 7
