While installing Joomla into Wamp2.2, I performed steps 1 through 3 well enough, but got an error on step 4, database configuration: "Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: 2". The amplifying remarks don't address that error, but refer me to the Username and Password (Check to see if they're correct, but I'm just now installing, and have just created them, so of course they're correct), thence to "check with your host to see if you need to create the database before installing Joomla." How is this possible with LocalHost??

Any guidance would be appreciated.

You need to have a mysql account with a password to install it. create a separate user with a password. then you can do that coz the root has no password.

In Joomla folder, open file joomla.sql and find

TYPE=MyISAM

Replace w/

ENGINE=MyISAM
