I just downloaded wampserver 2.1e - 32 on XP and I don't have a menu when I right-click the icon either. Not sure how to troubleshoot it, and I didn't see any one give any instructions for help for Ted. Can anyone help?
Is the icon Orange in the system tray? If so, one of your services is not starting properly. Hovering over should say something like 1of 2 services running.
Check your windows services alphabetically for wamp**** services. See which one is not running.
The icon is green and the hover-over is WAMPSERVER-offline. I'm trying to install this so my son can take an online course in using Drupal so I'm a bit ignorant in the technicalities of this. How do I check windows services?
Installed Wampserver 2.1a on Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
Wamp will not launch.
Icon in sys tray is Orange and server is "offline"
Wamp application is Pink
Windows services:
wampapache/2.2.17 (Wind32) is not Started wampmysqld has started
No other WAMP services.
So, how do I get Apache to start? Shoudn't it have started when I started WAMP?
I know this software is "free", but I am a little frustrated that I have invested so much time in getting this type of software to install and run properly. I might suggest a little exception handling, so that you get a helpful error message instead of nothingness. Be it known that EasyWAMP & XAMPP all have their own share of problems and that is why I am here now.
But, I am willing to become a WAMP convert, if someone is willing to proseltyze to a lost soul. ;o)

netstat -a shows:
80 is tied to "Foreign address"Screamin-PC:0 and is in LISTENING state...same status for 3606. "Sreamin_PC" is what I named my PC.
Not sure what this means. How do find what exactly is tieing up the Ports and how to free them?

I am logged in as admin. CP > User Account and Family Safety > User Accounts shows me as Administrator
BTW - I removed all vestiges of XAMPP (from previous failed installation) and WAMP. Rebooted my PC, turned of McAfee Firewall, reinstalled WampServer 2.1. and..
WampServer icon in systray is Green now, but is still offline and when I try to start WampServer, again, nothing happens?
I read elsewhere in another thread that I need to uninstall my firewall? Really?

Ok..I think it's working now. I didn't realize how it is was supposed to work. Starting wamp server puts green icon in systray, click on green icon (not right click), put online, start all services...localhost in broweser, etc.
Now I just need to read guide to figure out how to tweak and test my site before uploading to host.
Hi! I just install WampServer to my computer. And after reading some of theres post I see that in my icon is green and when I hover over the iconn it indicates server offline as well. but the sever is started. So where do I go from here.
