But I have noticed a lot of attempts at trying to access my database in my apache log error files, especially from requests that ask for 150 to 500 attempts at leasts each week by a differnet ip.

the question I have, is there anyways to block them from trying?

any ideas on what i can do tolike .htacess my phpmyadmin folder?

If so how and what could I place inside it?
