WampServer

I have wamp setup ok.
The index.php for phpbb is in the \wamp\www directory and works fine from the computer where wamp is installed.
My problem is when i access the server computer via port 80 from another computer, the initial page that shows up in the wamp server page instead of the phpbb that I want to show up.
Its probably a setting in the config file.....anyone have any ideas ?

In order to access from other PC's no matter within or outside your LAN, you need to setup Access, DNS, and VH; Access for permission to connect to your WAMP PC, DNS to tie Domain(s) to your WAMP PC, and VH to host multiple Domains/Websites/IP's and even you have only 1 Domain/Website/IP, you should use VH to set it up w/ the site you want to show up first on top and localhost on bottom and others in middle if having more than 1 site; if dont have real Domain, just skip DNS guide

To setup Access, follow this

To setup VH, follow this

To setup DNS, follow this

I read those articles but it doesn't answer my problem.
He says:
From computers within your LAN, no matter it's wire or wireless - watch out for your neighbor's laptops ;-):
[192.168.0.100] (to access your websites in folder www)

but that doesn't happen. As I said I have phpbb.ini file in the www directory but when I access the wamp computer from within the LAN it brings up the WAmp Server page.
Is there a setting in the config file that I have to adjust ?

OK, I got that one figured out.
2 things now, phpBB is warning me to change the chmod of the ini file, how do you do that in windows?
Second, its telling me there is an upgrade for phpBB, is this an easy thing to do ?

phpBB does not have an .ini file. It is the config.php file that it checks for being writeable. If you are not allowing access from the outside world, it is not a problem if config.php is writeable. To set the file to read only:

Open Windows Explorer
Right click on the file
Select Properties
Check the box for Attributes -> Read-only
Click Ok

It is easy to update phpBB with the Automatic Updater package. If you have questions about the procedure, ask at phpbb.com
