MySQL and "root" issue

Hi everyone!
I am very new in this. While installing wamp I got this error message.

Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user '.root'.

Any idea how i can resolve this?

Thanks in advance

Hi yfastud

I followed your suggestion and went to put the password for the root. There was a drop down menu, "Do not change the password", "no password" and "use text field" i ignored every thing and type the password. It was automatically changed to "use text field" However, even after i hit "GO" it seems not to have done anything because when i went back and checked i found out no password was under root.

Did i do anything wrong? Please advise, thanks.
