How can i access the "mysql5.1.36\data" on a network drive ? the network drive uses the backward slashes while wamp only allows foward slashes.
the network directory is :\\server\publicfiles\userdatas\username.
but the wamp only allow the foward slashes like: c:/folder/sumthing/sumthing.

Thanks

yes, you can setup a central www dir as well as db dir for all wamp pc in your lan and when it's done properly you can use any network pc, nas or usb but it's not simple to post in couple steps; might make a guide for it; on the other hand, you can have alternate way by using one of nas drive such as my 2 NetDisk which is auto set as local drives w/o any configurations as seen in the review below

Unlike most NAS drives, the NetDisk isn't assigned an IP address, and you don't need to mess with the DHCP server on your router, nor do you need to map the drive to your PC--it simply appears as a local drive upon installation.

keep in mind that not all nas drives are supported by apache, and so far I only have luck w/ these NetDisk drives, but not WD, Simpletech...
