Sorry very much a newbie, I'm running wamp on port 81. I use 80 for IIS stuff etc.

So say i want to work a new "MySite.com" where would i change the local path to point to this site. Also willthis affect access to phpMyAdmin which at the mo is on

[localhost]

i understand you can't put port numbers in host files.

you need to setup access and vh and use 'http://site:port' such as 'http://mywordpress:81'

to setup access, follow this

I've said before - that tutorial does not work for ALL requirements

anthonyplanet - if you're planning on using WordPressMU then you cannot have wampserver on port 81 - you'll need to change IIS to port 81 and leave wampserver on port 80

In Internet Information Services, go to default website - right click then properties - change the port 80 to port 81, save and restart the default website and then IIS, then wampserver - should all run sweet then.

Of course this works GAZ..

as long as you put :81 at the end of the url

GAZ:"if you're planning on using WordPressMU then you cannot have wampserver on port 81 - you'll need to change IIS to port 81 and leave wampserver on port 80 "

This is simple just not true,
