Custom distributable installation of wamp with my own mysql databases, etc.

Hi, there!

I'm currently investigating the best way to create a distributable offline version of my website. So here is what I need to do (which I realize may involve help from other sources than this forum):

1. Create a custom install package of WampServer using an older version of php because,
2. I need to install a joomla cms (which currently has issues with php 5.3.x).
3. Install other neccesary files to the offline site, including
4. Importing the database for the site.

I have experience with web programming and some programming in general, the joomla cms, developing sites on my localhost and uploading them to a live server. I think I can follow some technical advice (if not I will ask for clarification).

I need to develop this for an easy install so my 'grandma' who doesn't have internet can see what my live website looks like. Updating content for the local site is not an issue at the moment.

If I need to clear anything up please let me know.

joomla, wordpress and some other php scripts will rewrite url so install in one system and run on another will be the issue

I realize there may be some issues. Basically I can get it up and running the long way.

Install WampServer. Install Php 5.2.x. Install joomla. transfer appropriate files to approriate localhost 'www' folder. install any extra joomla modules, extensions, etc. Transfer the database (export/import - already 'pretweaked' for localhost users, ie. it doesn't contain any of the live site's administrator accounts and passwords). And then any other tweaking as neccessary.

I want to be able to do this (or at least part the WampServer with php 5.2.x part of it) in a one shot executable installation.

there are too many different ways to do it;

1. like steven mentioned, you have to install everything then recompile
2. instruction for users to install wamp then run your created batch files to install another php script such as joomla, wordpress w/ custom settings, addon...
3. install everything, then create custom batch/exe files to run everything on other pc w/o installation
...
there are so many ways to list winking smiley

Thanks for the responses...however they really lack direction. I don't need anything done for me. I would like to know how to do these things myself (short of getting a compsci degree). Can anyone point me in the right direction? At the very least where can I find a good source of learning how to do this?

Also since this is a WampServer forum I'll limit my project help here to the first step: I need to be able to distribute WampServer with php 5.2.x instead of the one it currently has. How can I do this?

Timonius,

Dont waste your time, effort and money. Put everything on a bunch of CD's and then go visit Granny.

She would probably rather see you than your website anyway.
